The images you describe belong to the Charles Aerts collection. This collection is is an impressive alphabetical cycling encyclopaedia containing no less than 25,000 photographs, reproductions, clippings, collecting cards, picture postcards and postcards.
Together, these cover the period from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century and thus provide a unique insight into more than a century of cycling.
The collection of Charles Aerts is one of the four collections of photographic prints (Aerts, Van Eyle, Vanmaele and Lahousse) that we are taking care of within the project described. To allow an even larger audience to enjoy these historical cycling photos, we want to offer these images on our collection and storytelling platform serviceKOERS. Given the large quantity of photos, this is a job we want to complete in peloton. We invite you to help us do this via DoeDat.
