Vegetation in Ethiopia is extraordinarily diverse. In the dry areas, you will only find plants that need little or no water. In the high plains, a lot of rain falls and it is very cool there. But the higher you go, the fewer plants you encounter. Only alpine vegetation can survive on Ethiopia's immense mountains.
Fact: In 2019, Ethiopia planted more than 350 million trees in 12 hours, a world record. The action was meant to combat deforestation.
