The Comoros form a volcanic archipelago in the Mozambique Channel with lush, tropical vegetation. The islands are renowned for their aromatic flora, particularly the ylang-ylang tree (Cananga odorata), whose flowers are essential to the perfume industry, and large vanilla orchids. In the higher, misty cloud forests, you will find a rich mix of indigenous tree ferns, mosses, and unique orchid species that flourish in the constant humidity.
