Luxembourg National Museum of Natural History

The Luxembourg National Museum of Natural History keeps a reference collection of Luxembourg’s natural heritage, but it also contributes to the regional conservation of this heritage through its research on bio- and geodiversity and by documenting their evolution over time. With its collections, preserved for future generations and equipped with research results, the “natur musée” is a place of scientific culture and a platform for the exchange of information.
During its more than 150 years of existence, the Luxembourg National Museum of Natural History has built up the country’s most important collections of plants, animals, fossils and minerals. Thanks to its digitization efforts, the metadata and images of many of the collection specimens are digitally recorded and publicly distributed via the web.
